Ayurvedic massage/ Snehana - Svedhana Snehana / Svedhana
Svedhana is the application of heat During a massage it might be suitable for a client to have a warm clay pack put on a part of their body for example their thighs, shoulders or back. A substantial amount of oil is first added to the skin since the application of heat must always be used either with humidity or a lubricant such as oil. Moist heat is very healing, it is nourishing and comforting and can help alleviate pain that is aggravated in dry and cold situations. This method is very good for conditions related to tight or tense muscles and aches and ‘dryness’ in the joints. Depending on your needs, Snehana and Svedhana might be used in your Ayurvedic massage.
